Actors Headshot
RB Headshots is a project run by photographer Rafael Bastos in partnership with a team of consultants within the acting industry. Rafael’s decision of specializing in headshots came from an increasing demand of work from actors from all over Europe during his many years in portraiture photography.
The experience and the constant work with actors and directors made it possible to develop a standard of results which are in tune with casting directors expectations. The stand out headshot comes from the combination of appropriate lighting, good direction and high quality images which are the best you can get from us.
“Nowadays a headshot is more ‘head and neck’, rather than ‘head and shoulders’. The face and neck should take a large amount of space in the frame, because the photo will first be viewed in thumbnail size by casting directors. And so it needs to “pop” to entice them to click on it and open it.
It is very important that the headshot is not over-retouched. Casting directors want to meet the actor from the photograph, so retouching to approach magazine perfection is not in the best interests of the actor and is counter productive to an actor’s career.
